Enn thatha - 95 years young!

10.15 p.m. - IST. / 2nd February, 2008.

Enn iniya nanbargale (my dear friends!),

Indru enn oda thatha vin piranda naal (today is my grand-dad's birthday!). And no ordinary birth-day, it is his 96th, i.e. he has completed 95 years on this good, ol' planet called earth!

He has been proud of my exploits for long now, ippo it is payback time! I must be proud of this simple, great, young man! called my thatha!

He is the person who has the maximum ZEST FOR LIFE!
Tomorrow, he is sure to follow the first ODI between australia and india, just like a teenager would!

How come? A tremendous intellect, honesty of purpose, positive outlook to life, and never-say-die (literally, too, what say you?! i wished him a century in life! this morning, over the phone! okay, okay, will meet him in person, tomorrow) attitude and above all a genuineness and purity of thought and action. Which makes him fearless and full of energy and zip to attack each day, wiht gusto!

and yes, he still works! he is a trade marks lawyer, and has completed 70+ years of active practice at the MADRAS HIGH COURT.

just introspect, what it is it in the 'grandparents' generation that makes them so delightfully young at heart?
